The
ISTEP Instructional Resource Center
The ISTEP
Instructional Resource Center, located at San Diego State University,
contains over 1200 print and audio-visual materials for teaching about
Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, international
issues, and global and multicultural education.
Materials
are available for 30-day loan to all educators and student-teachers
in San Diego County. To visit the Resource Center or inquire about specific
items, please call (619) 594-1105. Before visiting us, please call for an appointment. We can also arrange to ship items to you if you are unable to visit the SDSU campus.
Publications
While ISTEP’s
primary focus is on professional development for teachers, on occasion
we publish materials that grow out of collaborative projects between
subject area experts and classroom teachers. The following ISTEP publications
are currently available for FREE DOWNLOAD in PDF format on this web site.
War, Peace and Religion in the History Classroom
Curriculum unit developed by participants in a 2008-09 year-long seminar co-sponsored by ISTEP, the Department of Religious Studies and the Center for Islamic and Arabic Studies at SDSU, and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

of over 200 print and audiovisual resources dealing with South
America for instructional use at the K-12 level. Each annotation
contains price and ordering information current at the time of
publication. Designed to be comprehensive, not evaluative, materials
have not been reviewed for quality and are not necessarily endorsed
by ISTEP.
